Xena2889 is a Windows-based desktop application designed for accurate benchmarking of Layer 2 LAN switches in compliance with RFC 2889 standards. It is included free with every XenaManager release and provides a structured way to configure, execute, and analyse switch performance tests using Xena test equipment.
The tool supports multiple RFC 2889 test scenarios, enabling engineers to evaluate switching performance under different traffic conditions and topologies. It supports both IPv4 and IPv6 environments and allows flexible protocol definition for Ethernet, VLAN, IP, and UDP layers. Xena2889 also supports both interactive and automated testing workflows with detailed reporting in PDF and XML formats.
